We are an IT Support company, that is what we do and that is what we have done for the past 21 years. The question though is what does IT now stand for?
There has been so much change over the past few years with the introduction of the Cloud and the increase in mobility. It always used to stand for Information Technology which brings to mind servers and wires and offices. We don’t think that’s what IT stands for anymore. For us, the acronym now stands for Innovation and Transformation.
Innovation and Transformation
We believe that technology is not just a means to an end. It’s not just something that you have to use to get stuff done. It’s there to make our lives easier, to bring change and to allow us to achieve things that we have never been able to previously. Technology provides tools that can completely change the way we work. In one of our previous blog posts, we discussed the app Planner that comes with Office 365. Planner enables project work to be really collaborative, for time to be managed effectively and for teams to really work together. Tools like that can completely change how a business operates for the better with very little cost.
IT is not about just making it work
There’s a belief that you only really need your IT Support company when something goes wrong. If the server goes down or if your files disappear you call, they fix it and you get on with your day. There is now more to it than that. Technology is able to transform your business in so many ways for the better.
Cloud services remove barriers from the working day. Email is easily accessible from anywhere. You no longer have to worry about the hundreds of emails you have when you get back to the office, you can deal with them on the go. If there’s too much going on in the office you can easily work from home without distraction. You can even easily work with someone on the same document from two different countries if needed. The key word here is ‘easily.’ Time is something that everyone always seems to be running out of in an organisation and technology enables that to be returned through ease of access, flexibility and efficiency.
If technology is able to massively change our working days just by giving us access and more time then we can only imagine what the future will bring for our businesses. With the arrival of Artificial Intelligence and the Internet of Things we can only see information technology as a term of the past, everything within technology is now about innovation and transformation and we are so excited to see how we can be a part of that.
