Christmas is just around the corner! 2020 has been a challenging year, so why not treat your loved ones this winter? At ACUTEC we love all things tech, and here are our 10 tech gift ideas for Christmas 2020. Whether you’re looking for friends, family or maybe you want to treat yourself, you’re bound to find the right gift in our selection.

1. Latest Games Console

Microsoft and Sony both launched their latest generation games consoles in November 2020. Most gamers will prefer one brand over the other, generally based on what they’re used to. But if your loved one simply wants the latest tech, there are options available for various budgets. Prices start from around £250, up to the £450 mark. But that doesn’t account for the latest games – see which are exclusively available on one device so there are no disappointments!

2. Amazon Echo Buds

There are so many different types of smart speakers for your home, but what if you want to take Alexa out and about? That’s where Echo Buds come in. These earbuds offer excellent sound quality, and with Bose Active Noise Reduction, they will limit background noise, so you can concentrate on whatever you’re listening to. And you can use all of the Alexa skills you’ve activated when you’re far from home.

3. Dell XPS 13

The Dell XPS 13 is one of our favourite laptops available. With a sleek design, we think it’s one of the best-looking laptops out there. But it doesn’t just look good – it can be configured with some of the best tech specs available. Thin and lightweight, you can take the XPS anywhere, and comes with almost 20 hours of battery life. What’s not to like?

The way we watch TV has changed over the last few years, with far more emphasis placed on streaming and on-demand services from a number of different apps. A Roku Streaming Stick + can turn a standard TV into a smart one, and offers a huge range of apps. If you subscribe to lots of different streaming services, you may struggle to find them all on other smart sticks. We think Roku’s offering has the best choice out there.

5. Philips Hue

Lighting is one of the most popular things to add to a smart home. The Philips Hue range offers something for everyone. From bulbs to lighstrips, automate the lighting in your home, and control it with your voice or apps. To get started with Hue, you’ll need a Hue Bridge, plugged into your router. This gives you all of its advanced features and integrations.

6. Sony WH-1000XM4

This pair of headphones combines excellent sound quality and noise cancellation with a comfortable, lightweight design. What’s not to like? These wireless headphones are perfect for connecting to mobiles, tablets and computers. If you want to minimise distractions as you’re working, or you’d simply like to upgrade your current headphones, we don’t think you can go wrong with Sony’s latest offering.

Sonos is best known for their multi-room speakers, with an easy set up to get music playing throughout your home via your Wi-Fi. In September 2019 they launched their first portable speaker – the Move. It offers Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, so you can take your music with you and play through a high-quality speaker. A perfect addition to an existing Sonos ecosystem, or a great way to start one.
