ACUTEC continue rapid expansion

A West Midlands IT firm has started 2010 on the hunt for potential takeovers.

Coleshill-based Acutec, which last year merged with Coventry company Computime, wants to continue its rapid expansion by buying out other businesses.

The firm has more than 300 clients, many of which are based in the region but stretch as far as Sudan, and more than 20 staff.

Chris Roche, managing director of Acutec – which offers businesses everything from support to software solutions, said the time was right to grow again.

He said: “The merger with Computime has been extremely successful and everything has settled very quickly. The only changes clients have seen is an improved service and a greater choice of IT options because the fusing of our expertise.

“For example, we now offer a full and secure online back-up service to clients which we didn’t before the two companies came together.

“Now we want to grow again both organically and by acquisition. We are looking at small to medium-sized IT companies in the region, who we feel would best complement what Acutec can already offer.

“There are certainly several options and we are confident that we will complete a deal this year but we still want to hear from firms out there who feel they might benefit from becoming part of the Acutec stable.”
