An opportunity has now arisen in ACUTEC for an experienced developer / programmer to join their growing team.
This is a highly varied role that will see you involved in a range of duties from developing web-based applications, creating/administrating databases, web development tasks and providing support to clients on bespoke systems.
As a developer you will be expected to assist with a number of projects including client solutions for a diverse range of industries as well as in house systems. This role requires client contact and team work, therefore excellent communication skills are important. It is also expected that you will visit clients from time to time for scoping, systems analysis and general support.
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- strong knowledge of .NET development, particularly C# ASP.NET and Visual Studio. Desirable: skills/experience with legacy languages such as VB6, Classic ASP.
- thorough understanding and experience with databases, particularly MS SQL. Desirable: skills/experience with MySQL, Microsoft Access and database reporting tools such as Crystal Reports
- solid background in software development methodologies, systems analysis (diagramming etc).
Desirable: skills/experience with version control, testing and writing technical documentation - familiar with general web development using HTML, JavaScript, CSS and ideally PHP. Desirable: skills/experience with jQuery and DHTML.
- knowledge of web server setup/configuration including IIS 6.0 and preferably IIS 7.0. Desirable: skills/experience with Unix-based systems such as Apache
- general IT knowledge which would be beneficial such as: networking, security, firewalls, Windows operating system, Microsoft Office
Additionally, role dictates you should be a team player with a willingness to be involved. The ability to work on your own initiative is also essential.
